Jacobsen Kosher Sea Salt Slide Tin
You might already know about Jacobsen's signature flake finishing salt's bright salinity and delicate crunch and how those attributes enhance the enjoyment of food, however, when texture is not as important, reach for this item instead. Jacobsen's Kosher Sea Salt is derived from the same process as the finishing salt flakes-- these are just the smallest flakes or coarser crystals from the same production.
Jacobsen's clean flavor comes without any metallic sensations experienced with standard table salt. [Common table salt contains sodium aluminosilicate as an anti caking agent]
These nifty slide tins are a fun item to have backpacking, picnicking, or about town when not just any salt will do.
About Jacobsen Salt Company
Founded in 2011, Jacobsen Salt Co. is the first company to harvest salt in the Pacific Northwest since the 1800s.
Water is collected from pristine Netarts Bay on the Oregon Coast [about 500 miles north of our orchards], filtered twice, reduced to concentrated salt water, boiled to remove excess minerals, then evaporated in custom pans. Once evaporated, flakes are rinsed and put onto racks in a dehydrator for drying--this last step giving the salt its signature crunchy texture--and once dry the salt is sifted, graded, and sorted. The fully formed pyramid-shaped flakes are packed for flake salt, while smaller flakes and coarser crystals are packaged for kosher salt. You might have already seen this link, however, if not, here are my thoughts on Why Olive Oil Loves Jacobsen Salt.
