Carbon Offsetting at American Olive Farmer

If you've ever wondered what difference you might make to help heal the planet, you'll be interested to know that we have partnered with EcoCart to analyze the carbon impact of every shopping basket in our store using their proprietary algorithm, and then advise you of the cost to offset that carbon as a line item. 

If you chose to participate we collect the funds and send the total amount to EcoCart weekly. Monies collected in our shop are allocated to a forestry project about 80 miles north of our orchards. You can read more about certified carbon offset program in my essay, "What is EcoCart and Why it Matters".

As of mid January 2024, American Olive Farmer customers have offset 116,750 lbs of carbon. It's not always possible or desirable to make a donation, so if you'd prefer not to do so, you can opt out by removing the estimate from your cart.

Select times during the year we match every carbon offset you initiate. When we do so it takes your purchase beyond carbon neutrality to achieve climate positive status.
